Dr Jeffrey will be the last man fighting for sabahan ringts ! There will no more like him !
The current situation in Sabah can be summed up as a battle between two former UMNO Warlords. Yes including
Musa Aman as he is reportedly contemplating on ditching UMNO. Have no
illussion that Shafie is really fighting for Sabah's right or at least,
his sincerity on the matter is questionable. His squabble is well
documented and he is fortuitous that he was in the right place and at
the right time to ride the Sabah for Sabahan sentiment that was brewing
on at the grassroot level. Can anyone deny with clear conscience that
his fight is not wrought with personal vendetta? In any case, we
congratulate him on a well executed PR to rally the support of the urban
KDM. No doubt with much help from Darrel.
The current situation in Sabah can be summed up as a battle between two former UMNO Warlords. Yes, includ
However, lest we forget. The final count was Warisan & Friends 29
and BN 29. Neither won decisively. While Warisan may command higher
majority now with the switching sides of a few YBs from BN, this
increment in numbers is not through fair and clean democratic process.
While many may be tempted to compare the current situation to 1994 where
BN employed the same dirty tactic, one must not overlook the fact that
the current usurper of power is Warisan and not Musa Aman.
One
cannot cherry pick when to condemn a wrongdoing. If we despised what was
done in 1994, then we should condemn what is done now. Ask yourself, is
this a good start to a clean and equitable government? Because that
seems to be the premise of Warisan's war chant. Ubah. Has Warisan veered
off from its Ubah mantra? Because we see today many BN YBs going into
its fold.
But meanwhile in the former BN camp, a semblance of change can be seen with the stewardship of Datuk Dr Jeffrey.
PBS has abandoned BN at the behest of DDJK as part of his conditions to
help form the government. Musa too is reportedly expected to leave Umno
for PBS. Severing all ties to Malaya's political patronage and forming
an alliance that is truly Sabah centric, Gabungan Bersatu. This is a
tangible move towarda the road to autonomy. Warisan meanwhile is falling
back to the old habits of BN.
So ask yourself, which side has
shown that they are reformed or at least trying to? Warisan has
blatantly employing all the classical moves of BN thus far while DDJK's
camp have been composed and dignified. Change must not be skin deep.
Sabah's political soul must be changed too.
DDJK is not trying
to preserve BN or Umno if we step back a moment from our angered laced
state of mind and survey the situation objectively.
Instead DDJK
is trying to save us from being remotely controlled by Putrajaya for
the next five years. It is premature to say that we will be an
opposition state because like Sarawak, we have said that we will work
together with Putrajaya. In the long run, we might form a Borneon
Alliance with Sarawak and we will work hand in hand with Putrajaya for a
greater Malaysia where we are all equal partners.
P.s/- If you
say the election result in Sabah is a fraud, we might as well declare
all the SPR organised elections in the nation as questionable. Then how
do you explain PH's victory in Malaya?
