KOTA KINABALU – The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) and National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) would conduct a tsunami drill in Putatan, Saturday.
MetMalaysia in a statement in Kuala Lumpur Friday said the exercise was a move by the government to step up NADMA and the society’s level of preparedness in the event of a tsunami.
“In this regard, the public are advised not to panic or be influenced by rumours that might be circulated in the social media,” it said.
The public can contact MetMalaysia for more information through 03-79678066 or hotline 1-300-221638.
