KUALA LUMPUR – A daughter of Jamalul Kiram III who calls herself Princess Jacel Kiram was severely criticized by social network users on Twitter as soon as she started her campaign on the network with the handle @jacelkiram today.
There are netizens who feel Jacel Kiram is on Twitter to expand her campaign to support the invasion by Sulu gunmen in Sabah as well as seeking recognition for the Sulu Sultanate.
Jacel received various forms of criticism from Twitterers, especially Malaysians who are angry with the violence.
Among the criticisms received was “@klubbkidd You Kirams bloody Kirams need to understand where you are no longer welcome. Delusional to think you have a birthright ownership”.
One of those who were unhappy with the Sulu intrusion, tweeted “@FirdausAzil Your army came, beheaded our troop, mutilated their bodies and you’re still telling the whole world that our army was cruel”.
Reacting to the tweets, Jacel said “Please tell your government to give our land back!” She also expressed her confidence that they still have rights over Sabah and tweeted “Excusee, me. read history its never yours! Malaysia never owned Sabah! They are still paying rent!”
The establishment of the Twitter account also received reaction from Umno Youth leader, Khairy jamaluddin who Tweeted “Says a lot that Princess Jakel opens a Twitter account during a time of war to reclaim her “motherland” and one of the five people she follows in Jennifer Lopez”.
At the time of reporting the number of “followers” for Jacel Kiram has reached 1,280 people.
