PUTRAJAYA: MIC looks set to contest 28 seats (nine parliament and 19 state) in the general election.
Deputy president Datuk Seri Dr S Subramaniam said most of the seat negotiations have been settled between party chief Datuk Seri G Palanivel and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
“Most (of the negotiations) have been settled, aside from a few seats that are still undecided. The seats we're looking at a 9 plus 19 (parliamentary and state), so that's a total of 28 seats. “Out of the 28, 20 have already been settled so there is a balance of eight.
"There are certain issues (that need to be worked out),” he told reporters after presenting cash aid collected by his Human Resources Ministry for the National Warrior's Fund here.
On whether he would defend his Segamat parliamentary seat in Johor, Subramaniam said: "I will wait for the announcement by the prime minister."
